How do I countersign my Notes in WriteUpp?

Counter-signing notes in WriteUpp is automated and fully compliant with HCPC best practice.

When your notes are 24 hours old they are electronically and automatically:

  • Time and date stamped
  • Stamped with your Name
  • Converted to a "Read-Only" state

You can see this in action if you go into the Patient Summary and click on the "Notes" tab. You will see a list of all the notes you created, the date they were created and the creator of the record. If you click on a note that is read-only you will see the entry that you previously made and at the top of the page it will say the time/date of creation, the owner and it will say "Read Only". Most importantly, you can't edit it.

This exact mechanism is being used by over a thousand therapists that use our software in the NHS and is fully compliant with HCPC guidelines. As such it replaces the approach of counter-signing notes.

We also use the same approach for Assessments.
