How do you resolve a suspended PayPal user profile?

When you subscribe to WriteUpp we create a PayPal profile for you. This profile describes the service(s) being provided, the price and the frequency of payment.

If you have skipped a payment (say, due to an expired card) PayPal will try twice more (over a period of 10 days) to take payment and then it will cancel your profile. Unfortunately, we have no control over this. This is a PayPal security measure.

If you would like to continue using WriteUpp, you will need to resolve the cause of the payment issue (most likely an expired card or payment source) and then do the following:

Click on the main menu (top-left) and go to Account Details or go to the Account tab from Settings

Click the green Update Subscription button, which can be found at the bottom of the page

Log into PayPal using the account you'd like to subscribe with and follow the instructions on screen. Please only do this once you have established and resolved the issue with your PayPal account. Read Skipped PayPal Payment for more information on what may be causing issues with your payments.

During this process your account information and data will remain in place.

If you're based in the UK, you also have the option of switching to pay via Direct Debit. The below article explains how to change your payment method:

How do I switch to Direct Debit

If the issue is not resolved within 45 days your data will be deleted
